I’m also migrating from ST to HA and ran into an issue migrating my Schlage Connect locks. I have un-enrolled them successfully from ST, but when I tried to add one lock last night to HA (Z-wave JS) I got prompted for a 5-digit PIN to complete the enrollment. I’ll save a screenshot the next time I attempt this. Thanks Jay – I haven’t updated my z-wave JS to allow for S2 authentication yet, so thanks for the info! I’m sure there are others looking for steps on how to do so with S2 auth – I appreciate you documenting the process for us. This was somewhat of an impulse purchase. Admittedly, I didn’t do a lot of research… In my mind I would have a bunch of data of who unlocked the door and when, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. Looks like The lock may not be exposed to google home even for unlocking once SmartThings is in the picture. So I may just be wrong on the idea that you could unlock it if you are connecting it through smartthings. And then you can create a smartthings routine to lock your lock when the switch turns on and unlock your lock when the switch turns off.

It’s also important to know that most lock manufacturers, including Schlage, will tell you that a lock is “compatible “even if the voice assistant can only lock it, not unlock it. With Google Assistant, you can create routines that allow you to trigger multiple actions with a single command. For example, “OK Google, go on vacation” can turn off the lights, adjust the thermostat, lock your Schlage smart deadbolt and take care of many other tasks before you hit the road.
